What is TransReSext?

TransReSext is a pansexual transgender + genderqueer + intersex sex party based in Melbourne and surrounding areas in Australia.

TransReSext came into life because of the specific struggles facing transpeople and intersex people at regular sex parties. Body dysphoria can be crippling even with our regular partners, let alone around strangers, and many cisgendered people don't understand why it's such a big deal for us to be naked and sexual around other people.

There can also be confusion and feelings of rejection due to our orientations - transwomen are often not welcome at lesbian events, for example, and the intersexed man might be laughed at by the doorman at the gay orgy he wants to attend. TransReSext is a pansexual event which means people of all orientations and genders are welcome.

While we recognize that the transgender and genderqueer community and the intersex community often have different goals and needs, we believe that they intersect on many levels, and that feeling desired, safe, and free to express our sexuality without assumptions about our bodies is one of these levels.

TransReSext, being a transgender, genderqueer and intersex specific space, means that transpeople and intersex people will have the comfort of knowing that the other people there will not only understand, but will feel very similarly. They can be comfortable in being themselves without being judged.

This safe space means there will be less assumptions about us based on our bodies, and will hopefully let us relax enough to truly enjoy the sexy experience that we're there for!

TransReSext is an adult event and all attendees must be over 18 years of age.

When and where is TransReSext?

TransReSext will be held on a date to be decided at a venue to be decided. It starts at 8pm and will run until 4am, and the doors will lock and entry will be barred from 10pm onwards in order to preserve atmosphere and help everyone feel safe. If you need to arrive later than 10pm please contact the organizer to make arrangements.

However we can assure you that in the event that TransReSext is not held within walking distance from a train station or tram stop, shuttle services will be arranged. Special transport for folks with special needs can also be organized - just contact the organizer in advance to let him know.

How much will TransReSext cost?

Tickets to TransReSext is a flat $20 per person. We apologize for it being so high but unfortunately costs must be covered if TransReSext is to become a regular event.

However for that $20 you get more than just entry to a great party. A range of gluten-free, sugar-free and vegan food will be made available to you to keep up your energy, as well as water, juice and even a glass or two of wine. Latex safer sex items will also be available for your use.

If you are unable to afford the $20 entry, contact the organizer. There have been tickets bought and donated for those who could otherwise not afford to attend.

Can I just turn up or do I have to book ahead?

You must book tickets ahead of time. This is so we know how many people will be attending and so we can make appropriate arrangements at our venue.

Your ticket also acts as your admission token - when you arrive you give your ticket to the doorperson so they can let you in!

If you forget your ticket or it gets lost or destroyed somehow, that's okay, we will have the name you booked with on a list. So as long as you remember what you booked your ticket under, you will still be admitted. However we don't recommend abusing this system - try to remember to bring your ticket, it makes things go much faster!

Will the tickets' envelopes be discreet?

Yes. Only the name you book under and your address will be on the front, and the sender's information will be simply the organizer's name and address. There will be no mention of TransReSext, transgenderedism, or sexuality anywhere until you open the envelope.

Are tickets pre-paid or do I pay on the night?

You have the option to either pre-pay for your ticket via paypal, or pay on the night.

If you decide to pre-pay for your ticket, then select the "pay now via paypal" option when booking a ticket. Once the form has gone through, you will receive a paypal request for money at the email address you listed when booking. Once you have paid, your tickets will be sent out.

If you decide to pay on the night, then just select the "pay on the night" option when booking your ticket, then just bring along your $20 to hand to the doorbitch on the night!

Okay, how do I book my tickets?

You can book tickets closer to the date. :)

Do I have to be transgendered or intersexed to attend?

To a certain degree, yes.

TransReSext is a sex party for transgendered, genderqueer and intersexed people. If you identify with any of those terms, then you are welcome to attend. We are not going to police your identity - there's no "not trans enough" here!

We do NOT have any policy about how much surgery or how many hormones you've had before you're allowed to attend! We are friendly towards transpeople, genderqueer people and intersex people who are pre-hormones, pre-surgery, non-operative and no-hormones.

Transgendered, genderqueer and intersexed people are welcome to bring up to two cisgendered (non-transgendered) guests with them.

If you are interested in coming and you are not transgendered, genderqueer or intersexed, and do not have a transgendered, genderqueer or intersexed friend or partner who can escort you, you can contact the organizer and see if options are available to you.

Can I bring my cisgendered partner(s)?

Yes. Cisgendered (non-transgendered) people are not banned from this event, but they are only allowed to attend if they are the guest of a transperson, genderqueer person or intersexed person who is also attending.

We are polyamory-friendly, however, and if you have two or more partners or two partners and an extra guest you wish to bring, please contact the organizer to discuss your options.

Is BDSM allowed at TransReSext?

Yes, it most certainly is! Those into BDSM and fetish are certainly welcome to bring their desires with them, however, for the comfort of those not interested in these activities, they must be restricted to the specific room we have put aside for them.

Some fetish and BDSM furniture and toys will be provided, but you should bring your own toys if possible.

Do I have to have sex or do anything?

No, of course not! You can just watch, chill out, talk, whatever you like. There is absolutely no pressure to do ANYTHING. You are allowed and encouraged to say no to ANYTHING you don't want to do.

If you're hassled by someone who will not take "no" for an answer, there will be safety people for you to tell.

Is there a dress code?

Short answer: No.

Longer Answer: Wear whatever makes you feel sexy! :)

Is TransReSext a safer sex event?

YES. Safer sex items such as condoms, dams, gloves and water-based lube will be supplied at TransReSext for you. We encourage you to use them!

However, the decision is yours, we are certainly not going to insist that already fluid-bonded partners use barriers, for example, so safer sex practices will not be policed. However, we HIGHLY encourage safer sex methods and remind you that you are completely within your rights to insist anyone you are playing with to use them!

Items supplied at TransReSext will be:
* Latex condoms (three sizes)
* Latex dams
* Latex gloves (also in a couple of sizes)
* Wet Stuff brand water-based lubricant
* Tissues, towels and wet wipes for cleanup

This list will be updated in more detail (such as brand names) as the details make themselves known!

If you require latex free condoms or gloves, or water-based lube that is not Wet Stuff brand (as many people are allergic), we apologize for not providing for you and welcome you to bring your own safer sex items.

How can I stay updated about TransReSext?

You can join the mailing list or join the LiveJournal community (or both!). While you can just come back and check this page again whenever you feel like it, joining the mailing list or livejournal community helps your organizer by giving him an idea of how many people are interested in TransReSext and lets him hear your feedback.

Links to both the mailing list and LJ community can be found here.

Can I donate money to TransReSext?

Yes! Due to several enquiries about donating money via paypal, you can now do so. Click the "donate" button below to donate however much money you want to TransReSext. Whatever money you donate will ONLY be put towards TransReSext, it will not go anywhere else.

What does TransReSext mean, anyway?

It's a play on (a few!) words. Trans-sex is obviously an influence, with both references to transgenderedism and sexuality. ReSext is influenced by respect, because we have the utmost respect for each other as transgendered and genderqueer people and our partners, and re-sexed/reset, because TransReSext is something fresh and new, and hopes to give you a really unique experience!

Who is organizing this, and how can I contact them?

TranReSext is being organized by Erinkyan, an intergendered ftm from Melbourne. His email address is not.in.denial@gmail.com. Contact him with any questions or concerns you might have.
